| Notes |
- In early life Benjamin followed farming and coopering, with his father, removed from Chatham CT to New Durham NY and thence after 2 years, he penetrated the forest still further to Delaware, OH, where he resided until his death. Changing his views of the Christian religion, he joined the Baptist Church, devoted himself to the ministry, received ordination, and after serving his church for some years, to its great increase, took his leave for a more extended field.
