Notes |
- Edward married his cousin, Eliza Smith, daughter of Enos Smith. Together with his brothers Alvin and David who had come earlier, he organized, in 1852, the Swift River Co. of Enfield, MA, a very successful producer of fancy cassimere cloth, now extinct. He was a member of the Mass. Legislature and was a prominent figure in the financing and building of the Athol branch of the B. and A. RR.
