Notes |
- Stephen left Pennsylvania with a team and wagon; stopped a short time at Cleveland, OH, and settled at Dixon, IL, in the fall of 1836, and was one of the very earliest inhabitants. He lived for a time in a log-house built by Dr. Everett, who had settled there a few months earlier. He was a charter member of the Friendship Lodge, No. 7, A.F. and A.M., which he joined 29-Jul-1841, and at the time of his death was the oldest member.
