Notes |
- John left home at the age of nineteen and went to Illinois, returning home three years later at the death of his brother James, where he lived until the death of his father. He then purchased a boat, and was in the canal and lake trade between New York and Canada until his marriage in 1866. From that time he worked at his carpenter trade in Fort Ann, NY until his removal in March 1886 to Glens Falls, NY.
