| Notes |
- From the Rome, New York assessment records, Alfred Day in 1826 was reported to have 48 acres, quality - 3 pts, sys. - 600 value, and paid 2.24 pounds in taxes.
In 1832 he was reported to have 68 acres at a value of 650 pounds.
In 1834 he had the same acreage and paid 2.46 pounds in taxes.
In 1849 he had 45 acres at a value of 400 pounds, and paid 2.53 pounds in taxes.
In the 1840 New York census for Rome, Oneida County, there were 5 people listed in the Alfred Day household. 3 males: 1 between 10 and 15 years old, 1 between 20 and 30 years old, and 1 between 60 and 70 (this would have been Alfred). 2 females: 1 between 5 and 10 years old, and 1 between 30 and 40 years old. As Anna was not reported to be living with Alfred, it would appear that she had died between 1830-35.
In the October 1850 Rome census, 3 were reported to be living in the Alfred Day family. Alfred (age 70), a Miss Dopp (aged 70), and Dewit Day (aged 19). The 19-year old named Dewit would have been Dwight Henry Day.
In 1850 Alfred's property was valued at 1800 pounds.
