Notes |
- He became motherless when 3 weeks old, and was adopted by Nathaniel Hubbard, with the understanding that he was to retain the name of Douglas. In 1805 Mr Hubbard purchased a farm in the town of Avon, New York, wither they removed, and where Caleb afterward lived. He died after a long and painful illness which confined him to the house for 9 years. He was a member of the Baptist Church. [2]
