  • Notes
    • James probably came in the ship Charles with Hatherly 1632. He joined the church 18 Jan 1635 with his wife. He was Representative 1649-1656 and again in 1659, when for his tenderness to the Quakers he was rejected. He was an Assistant 1656-1658, a Captain in the militia, and in the early part of Philip's War command of the whole force of Plymouth Colony. He was Deputy Governor in 1681. He was in London, as Colony agent, and there died of smallpox soon after arriving, and he had service as Commissioner of the United Colonies in 1657. [2]
