    • Nathaniel was a rich tanner. Selectman 1648 and 1650. Involved in controversy by which we may presume he was led to go home, where more freedom of opinion was allowed to be expressed. A characteristic letter of 1652 to Broughton which is printed in 3 Massachusetts History Collection 1. 32, was made a subject of investigation. [2]
