We are saddened to announce the passing of Jack on February 19th following a brief battle with cancer. Jack was born in Walkerton, Ontario on June 10, 1933. At the age of 19 he enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force where he was trained as a fire fighter. After 27 years of service on bases in both Canada and Europe, Jack attained the rank of Chief Warrant Officer. Following his retirement from the Armed Forces Jack worked as a public servant with the Department of National Defence in Ottawa.
Jack was committed to elevating the quality of minor hockey in Canada and worked with the Canadian Amateur Hockey Association to develop standardized coaching manuals for minor hockey coaches. Throughout his life he was passionate about sports and himself played softball, volleyball and hockey. In his later years Jack enjoyed bowling, golf, and dance. He was an active member in his local legion, organized and played in a volleyball league and was quick to lend a helping hand to his friends and neighbours.
